Walk barefoot on a bumpy grass lawn (or beach sand) on a regular basis. When you wear shoes too often it weakens the feet by immobilizing the intrinsic muscles– the small muscles between the tarsal bones of the foot. Weak foot muscles decrease the foot’s strength and stability leading to pain in various pressure points under the foot: ball, sole and heel.
Also, walking barefoot on grass, especially after rain can discharge static electricity from your body, sending positive ions back into earth. This is called grounding and is beneficial to keeping your body’s electromagnetic fields balanced. All living organisms generate weak electromagnetic fields due to the movement of electrically charged molecules and atoms inside which are subject to the Earth’s magnetic field.
