Use Topical Healing Agents
Apply a topical, natural pain relieving/ anti-inflammatory agent immediately after your red light therapy session. Light therapy increases blood flow to the joint, and when you apply a topical agent the increased blood flow will take more of the active ingredients directly to the painful area.
The ones I recommend are:
Penetrex – a specially-formulated cream designed for deep penetration to the target tissues; includes Boswellia, MSM, Cetyl Myristoleate, Arnica, Devil’s Claw and other anti-inflammatory and healing agents.
Boswellia Essential Oil – an essential oil is distilled from an herbal plant, so it represents the plant’s therapeutic constituents in their purest, highest concentrated form. Boswellia Serrata, also known as Frankincense is known for reducing inflammation and pain.
Comfrey Root – comfrey is a plant that has been used for centuries to treat injuries such as broken bones, bruises and scrapes. It can be toxic at high levels, so it is not recommended for open wounds. Dr. Christopher’s formula is a product that contains comfrey root, as well as other healing herbs; another is Burt’s Bees Res-Q ointment.
Apply any of these agents to your shoulder twice a day– in the morning, and before you go to bed. Make sure the skin around your shoulder is clean and dry. More information is at the end of this ebook.
