Self-Therapy for Wrist and Hand Pain

This is for chronic wrist and hand strain– tendonitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, and stenosing tenosynovitis.  It is also worth trying on osteoarthritis affecting the knuckles.

Apply red light therapy to the affected areas for 8 minutes mid-morning, afternoon and before bed, for three days in a row.   Red light stimulates cells’ ATP (energy) production which enhances healing and reduces inflammation and pain.

Immediately after each session, rub Penetrex or Dr. Christophers Formula into the affected areas.  Penetrex is a deep-penetrating cream containing arnica, boswellia, devil’s claw, cetyl myristoleate, peppermint and other anti-inflammatory herbs.

Then, using a myo-bar or edge tool, and with firm but not too aggressive pressure rub the tendons in long strokes.  When you feel small bumps under the skin, use focused smaller strokes to smooth them out.  Those bumps are scar tissue adhesions, and need to be softened.
